COUNTDOWN

I need to get away. Anywhere, really! Lucky for me (and the kiddos), in only 6 days we will be heading to Grandma and Grandpa's cabin at Mount Rainier. Paco will be left behind, wondering what he will do with 3 days of peace and quiet. My sister and her boyfriend will be visiting from Virginia, and we are all just going to chill out. Yes, I said chill out. We will swim, lounge in the hot tub, and catch up. The kids will hike, ride their bikes, practice their cannonballs and roast marshmallows. Brian will more than likely be forced to endure endless hours of legos. Again. My sister and I will drink wine, talk about her adorable new house, and debate who was the true winner of a recent super hula-hoop contest. (FYI, I TOTALLY won). My Dad will talk about motorhomes, and how he's still trying to convince Sandy to let him get one. We will all pretend to enjoy talking about motorhomes. (I love you Dad!) Sandy will spend too much time cooking for us and spoiling the kids. We will get to visit with Gigi and Poppa.

It will be three days when I don't have to think about my job, housework, yardwork, organizing or paying bills. I need an escape from the real world.

Let the countdown begin.

  1. Hi Denise,

I am so glad that you are going to have one more chance to get away before school starts. I just have one question for you in regards to the Priest Lake getaway. I noticed that Paco what looks like an electric skillet to make his famous pancakes. Do they have current bushes up there that you just plug into or does your test come equipped with a wireless electrical outlet? (They must have those they have other gadgets that us old people still don't "get")

    Love Mom

  2. Oops!!!A couple of typos on my previous comment. You know me I get to laughing so hard because we both have that "dry" sense of humor and I end up with a bunch of goof ups. I meant tent and the comment about Paco's pancakes I am sure you figured out on your own.

I have had a couple of great days with you and the kids and I hope to stay well enough to have a few more days with them before school starts and they have to return to school.

    Love again, Mom

  3. Mom,

Just so you know, this was a harcore camping trip. Complete with our very own electrical hookup for the low, low price of $5.00. Where else would we plug in our skillet and coffee pot? Man, talk about "roughing it"!
