We survived the week of summer camp and sickness. Gracie finally got to go back to camp on Thursday and Friday once she was feeling better. Little did we know that I would have a message from our Pediatrician today saying that she DOES have strep throat (the original test was negative). I thought this was funny given that she's been feeling good yesterday and today. Regardless, we are back on antibiotics to keep the yuckies at bay.
Camp Sweyolakan was a HUGE success with Cole and Gracie. They adored it. Already asking when they get to go back! Gracie gets to go twice next week to make up for her sick days. This, as you can imagine, does not please her brother. It makes me so happy that they loved it as much as I did when I was a kid.
Tomorrow night Paco and Cole are going to a baseball game at Indian's stadium with their Cub Scout Pack. Or troop. Or den. Whatever they call it. I'm new to this stuff. Afterwards there will be fireworks, Father/Son games, and they will be pitching their tents on the outfield for the night. The next morning the Spokane Indians will be serving them breakfast. Sounds like a fun time, huh?
While our boys are off eating hot dogs and peanuts, Gracie and I will be enjoying a girls' night at home with a friend of mine. There will be snacks, knitting, a chick-flick (one that will involve crying), and just fun girl stuff. Then Gracie and I will snuggle up in the king sized bed and catch up on our beauty sleep.
Sunday morning we are heading out for a short camping trip. I'm trying to muster up some enthusiasm, really. I'm just so tired, and more than anything I want to kick back and relax at home. I know it will be fun for the kids though...so off I go.
It's bedtime. I'm looking forward to a slower morning than usual tomorrow. Enjoying my coffee a little more and spending more time snuggling with the kids. We may hit the farmer's market as well. After the week we've had, I'm ready for the weekend!
