GLACIER - DAY 1

We hit the road around 6:30, about an hour and a half later than planned. Frankly, we were so freakin' tired! Camping is so, so, so much work. Paco didn't get home from work until about 1am, and finished loading the car. It was PACKED! It looked a little something like this:Not to mention our roof carrier and 3 more bikes on the back of the van! We just barely had room for these two:
We stopped in St. Regis for breakfast at the Huckleberry patch. Quite possibly the best food we have ever had! YUM! We also checked out a funky little antiques shop...they had some neat stuff!

Then it was off for the last stretch of our trip to the Park. There are plenty of interesting things to see on the way there...like this...
and this rest stop, which is the NICEST rest stop I have ever seen. It actually had a lobby area with artwork, etc. How could I not document it?which is also where we took these great pictures...
Finally, around 1:30, we arrived at the west entrance of Glacier National Park..
We got to Fish Creek campground and started setting things up. Our site was literally right on the creek...what a great sound to listen to at bedtime!
After setting up camp, we were HOT! We packed up our chairs, Ipods, magazines and snacks and headed to the lake, where we pretty much had the place to ourselves!
We finished out the day with dinner, a campfire and heading over to the Park Ranger program. All in all, day one was very busy!!
