Library cards

On Friday evening the kids and I went to the library so they could get their own library cards. This was a wildly exciting way to spend a Friday night actually pretty fun. Here they are with their cards sitting in the children's section. (Sorry for the lousy quality, I was using my cell phone camera. I love my Blackberry, but am less than impressed with its camera!).
Gracie picked out a Ramona the Pest book, and a huge book that is way too long for her. She insisted, so I gave in. After all, it's HER library card and HER choices...as she reminded me. Cole chose a couple "Choose your own adventure" books. Remember these? I loved them when I was a kid. He and Paco like to read these together. Here he is at the self-checkout counter stamping his own book. He loved it. He has control issues. I wonder where he got those?

SLEEPOVER

Last night Cole and Gracie each had a friend spend the night. They had alot of fun eating pizza and licorice, watching movies, playing games and just hanging out. The girls went to bed around 10pm, but the boys stayed up until nearly 1am. This morning they had to be up early to go to Cole's pinewood derby. I think they ended up with about 5 hours of sleep!! We were all tired this morning....

BASKETBALL GAME

A few pictures from the Greenacres elementary vs. Liberty lake elementary staff basketball game. Fun times! We were all decked out in green to support our school! Gracie was a cheerleader and Cole participated in the boys "Stomp" club. Our staff won the game, and Greenacres won the spirit award! Go Roadrunners!

SO LONG, WEEBLE HOUSE

My sister-in-law bought this for my kids years and years ago. Along with the Fisher Price Noah's ark, it has been the most played with toy of all time in the Sutton house. Sadly, it no longer works and Cole brought it to me the other day and said... "Mom, the Weeble house is toast."

Goodbye old friend.

SLEEPOVER

Yesterday, we had our friend Carollynn (who lives across the street) over for a sleepover. Paco made homemade burgers for the kids and we popped up some popcorn for afterwards. We made a "tent" in our living room and the 3 of them had fun watching ghostbusters on Cole's portable dvd player.snacking on apples and reading Cole's Guinness book of world records. What a cool book! (thanks, Bubba!) Yes, my daughter has this weird knack of doing really weird stuff with her eyes, which she finds hilarious. all settled in.... deluxe hot cocoa with breakfast...along with vanilla banana flaxseed pancakes....
On another note, I have blogged ALOT over the past day or so, so be sure to scroll down so you don't miss any of the life shattering things I've talked about. HA!

REMINDERS OF LAST YEAR

Last year we had record snowfalls here in Spokane. The kids had several snow days spent frolicking in the mountains of snow. Thought I'd share a few pictures...
